The Old Guys Reunion
It's been in the planning stages for months...little did we know it was going to be a true reunion of the Old Guys!

FOUR Old Guys...not the usual THREE that have traveled for the past eighteen months...met in Longwood to attend a cruise in and a car show.

The fourth was Cecil, and without going into detail, he's back!

The Reunion basically marks the start of the fall car show season, and gives the Old Guys plenty of reasons to meet up, and of course, party a little. Well, a little is about as much as an Old Guy can!

We spent the afternoon poolside at the hotel, and later in the evening, with lower temperatures, no humidity, and a decent breeze, we attended the Casselberry cruise in. Needless to say, dinner was at Firehouse Subs.

The Old Guys learned a long time ago that at our age, we can't party two nights in a row, and after the cruise in, we returned to the hotel, and after a couple hours, called it a night! Don't be concerned, we'll make up for it tonight!

Saturday morning, we headed for Orlando, and the OCSO 9/11 Memorial Show. Car problems started immediately; my wagon wouldn't start. Figuring a dead battery, we tried jumper cables. No luck there!

But when we jumped the terminals of the started solenoid, it started right up. A couple whacks with a substitute for a hammer, and it appeared to be fixed.

Not to be taking chances, however, a replacement was picked up at Advance Auto for $10, and ultimately replaced on the show field.

And at the show, which was well-attended, we met up with a good possibility of a new Old Guy. Curt has a realy nice '32 Ford, and hopes to retire in the next couple years. Once we talked for a while, we found he fits the Old Guys' requirements to a tee!

As we usually do, we left the show early, stopped for lunch, and then returned back to the hotel. A couple hour nap, and all of us should be ready for tonight's activity...a visit to the Post Time Lounge.

I felt it is in our best interest do write now, rather than try and do it after our visit to the Post Time. And anybody who doesn't understand why, shouldn't take the time to read our blogs!

Hi, I live in Apopka and would be interested in joining the "Old Guys" for a show or cruise sometime. Like to get to know some "Old Guys" like me (74 years young with a 1954 Ford Skyliner).
