Last night, we hustled through the Blog, so we wouldn't be late for Happy Hour. Unfortunately, what we left out was most important to us. First, Sonny and I drove in the Missing Old Guy formation most of the day out of respect for Packard Bill and Cecil, who weren't able to make the trip. Then, it's important that Packard Bill know that if we had attended the BBQ Festival in Lexington, it would have been a total waste of our time...Bill, it ain't your kind of sauce! Now, today's happenings. Starting out this morning, it was breakfast at the hotel. Not just the usual fare, but scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, grits, gravy, and much, much more. No one left the table wanting more, and it was included in the room rate! We drove the two-laners for the first couple hundred miles, and it was a real treat! Well, except for a couple miles of backed-up traffic, which tied us up for about a half-hour. In the afternoon, we drove I-81 straight into Carlisle. The trip has been entirely without incident...not ONE car problem! The hotel is even more retro than our cars...gotta be at least fifty years old, but it DOES have a bar, and that's a GOOD thing! There's already a few cars here, but nothing remarkable. Maybe it'll get better later this evening. We opted for a healthy dinner...pizza, and we're waiting for it to be delivered. After dinner, we're off to the lounge, and tomorrow morning, at first light, we're headed for the show field. Tomorrow's Blog should be interesting! |
