Last night, we heard that if we wanted to beat the traffic, we should leave the hotel by 7:30. So this morning, we did...three Cougars, and a truck. We didn't see much traffic, but like it was when we were in New Jersey, you couldn't make a left turn, either! About 50 Cougars eventually made it onto the show field, and the Old Guys especially liked that even though you didn't know everyone by name, we were all friends, and we all had a good time! It's unusually hot in Carlisle, and the temp quickly rose up into the upper 90's. We walked the vendors, and looked at some of the non-Cougar cars. We did our small part to support the vendors...Sonny bought a couple new mirrors, Swami got some polished trim, and I bought the new Meguiar's polisher, which came complete with all kinds of cleaner, polish, and wax. But the best deal so far was Phil's $100 dash pad! There's a CCOA meeting tonight on the show field, but we're not gonna be there...it interferes with our upcoming final cocktail hour! The Delmarva and CCNJ/PA gang gets a BIG thanks from us...they hosted the show, making sure that everyone had the best possible time! Thanks, guys! We've decided to move our departure day up by one, so tomorrow morning, the three Cougars are heading southwest towards Lexington, Kentucky, while the truck goes south. We may meet up in Marietta, Georgia Monday night. We've got some big plans for the next couple days. If you've ever seen Diners, Drive In's and Dives on the Food Channel, you might be able to figure out our Sunday and Monday meal menu. Sonny, who has earned the well-deserved title of Club Drunk, says to cut this short...we're wasting percious cocktail hour time! More tomorrow... |
