Beach Blast XIV Saturday
Day Two of the three-day weekend found the Old Guys wandering the show field (okay, the parking lot) early in the morning. Even though the parking lot was full, we did a little creative juggling, and we were able to get Brian's mucho bling '69 convertible in line with the Old Guy's rides.

Dawn arrived mid-morning, as did Swami and Julie, and Phil and Nancy, providing the makings for the party we so desperately missed yesterday. Cecil was a no-show, as was Ft. Lauderdale Bill.

The BBQ was served promptly at noon, and as always, Nancy provided the homemade baked goods. There was more than enough BBQ to go around, so we fed some of the show crew, too.

It wouldn't be Beach Blast if it didn't rain, and in the early afternoon, it did. First a drizzle, then it stopped. Once the newbies got their cars wiped down (the Old Guys know better), it rained again, then stopped. Only a few took the time to wipe them down again, only to have the rain begin again, and continue most of the afternoon.

We dined on BBQ again in the evening, as the party began to take shape. By 9:00 PM, the show field came alive, and the Old Guys and Company held their own in the party department.

Without going into any detail, Mike and Michael Kelly, the show hosts, joined our mini-party, and we hung in there until early Sunday morning. Fortunately for us, we subscribe to the what happens in Cocoa Beach STAYS in Cocoa Beach philosophy!

Beach Blast XIV
A few of the Old Guys haven been attending the Beach Blast for several years, arriving on Friday, and spending the weekend at the beachfront hotel.

Every year, the pre-registration fills up earlier, and as we found out this year, everyone arrives earlier, too. We arrived at noon, only to find the usually-nearly-empty parking lot almost 3/4-full of show cars!

Oh well, the more the merrier, we figured, so we munched on Publix subs, took a break from the heat for a few hours, then gathered in the parking area, where we're known to be the last to leave, which has always been sometime early Saturday morning!

But alas, the entire gang wasn't here, and the party atmosphere dissipated early, sending us to our rooms just before 10:30...the security staff, who stays in the parking area all night long, couldn't believe it!

The gang, however, WILL be here tomorrow for the homemade BBQ lunch we've planned, and will hopefully keep the party going until the wee hours of Sunday morning!

You know, the Old Guys DO have a reputation to maintain, and it's not shying AWAY from a party!
