When A to B ISN'T a Straight Line!

After hearing so much about the Webster Swap Meet, a couple of the Old Guys decided we would check it out on August 5th.

Webster is about 235 miles from South Florida, and maybe a hundred less from Jax. But even a one-day visit to the swap meet turns into a big deal for the Old Guys, who can never simply go from Point A to Point B!

So we're going to meet in Daytona Beach, which isn't on the way for either of us, and visit the Daytona Flea Market, so I can pick up some more of those outrageous, but good quality, $10 Hawaiian shirts.

Then we're going to drive about 50 miles to Longwood, and spend the evening (hopefully) with another Old Guy. That'll no doubt take place somewhere there's lots of neon signs. We'll spend the night in Longwood.

Sometime Saturday morning/afternoon (depending on how Friday night goes), it's off to Winter Haven, just a quick, sixty-mile drive, for the big downtown Winter Haven Cruise In that's become so popular (find out more).

We'll spend Saturday night in Lakeland, then Sunday morning, it's just an hour's drive to Webster, where we hope to meet up with another Old Guy, Packard Bill. We'll spend half the day at the swap meet, and then all head back home.

You're probably thinking, why not go straight to Webster on Saturday, spend the night, go to the swap meet on Sunday, and THEN go home, rather than going a couple hundred miles out of the way.

The answer is simple, according to Sonny, who happens to be the same guy who had us drive nearly 200 miles out of the way just for a BBQ sandwich (and YES, it was worth it!)..."because we can!"

Got no plans that weekend? Meet us in Winter Haven for the cruise in, or Webster for the swap meet.
